Renata Ambrožič Čop was born and raised in Slovenia. Although she spends
most of her time in Bled and its surroundings, she finds her home wherever
people live in peace and harmony with nature.
In her childhood, she realized that a healthy natural environment and living in
harmony with nature are essential for well-being, and that a healthy lifestyle is
the foundation for a healthy life. She expanded her knowledge in all the areas
that interested her, from medicine and natural sciences to arts. Everything
she sees with her heart and deeply feels, she wants to depict through
photography, drawing, or painting.
In Slovenia, she completed her medical studies at Medicinska fakulteta in
Ljubljana. She studied art at the College of Saint Benedict & Saint John's
University in Minnesota, USA, under mentorship of professor
James Hendershot and continued until completing her master's degree at the
School of Drawing and Painting (College of Visual Arts) in Ljubljana under the
mentorship of Professor Dr. Kiki Klimt and Professor Domen Kotnik, MA in
Fine Arts.
From her youth, she has been drawn to untouched landscapes, fascinated by
life's beauty and biodiversity. Observing the intricate details of nature, she
sees beauty in every living being, from macro to microscopic. Dedicated to
human well-being, she is deeply concerned about the exploitation of natural
resources and environmental imbalance. Through her art, she conveys these
concerns, aiming to reconnect viewers with nature's splendor.
In her latest project, "Nature to Man," she explores the delicate balance
between humanity and the natural world through seven interconnected oil
paintings, symbolizing our intertwined existence.
"Nature to Man" is a deeply personal and passionate exploration of the delicate relationship between nature and humanity. Through a series works, Renata captures the interdependence between these two worlds, offering a poignant reflection on how they coexist and sometimes collide.
Having had a personal showing and explanation of the exhibit, it was evident that one of the most striking elements of the exhibit is the sense of heart and devotion infused in each piece. The exhibit felt real; showing the love, dedication and soul that was poured into her work.
What makes this exhibit truly unique is the way Renata integrated themes of family and love, with the natural environment. For Renata, the natural world is not just an abstract concept but a force intertwined, connecting with her personal life and relationships.
The exhibit is a touching reminder that the human experience is deeply connected to nature, and through her work, Renata expresses both her respect for the environment and the love she shares with her family. It is an exhibit that left me with a renewed sense of appreciation for the world around me and the people we hold dear. Congratulations on this wonderful exhibit!
